This was another randomly selected image that I used for reference. It started off as a black and white photo that I picked due to the exaggerated features in the old mans face. I further exaggerated the shape of his face during my own black and white drawing (Left)
For the color process I used another photograph and then eye dropper picked parts of the skin to create a palette that I could go back to as I went in to overlay my colors on a separate layer. This is also one of my first attempts at creating a bokeh effect, by creating a faux background and then bluing it to a degree where it looks somewhat believable.
